The Harvest Foundation Generously Invests in CHILD’s School Arts Program: The Harvest Foundation supports organizations and instructors that provide hands-on arts education, particularly for organizations that serve low-income or under-served children. As a new partner of CHILD’s, the Harvest Foundation has generously awarded funds to support CHILD’s School Arts Program. Our Arts Program provides hands-on classes that incorporate visual, performance, and concrete arts-based strategies which strengthen students’ self-esteem, communication, and cognitive, academic, and interpersonal skills. For our students who may otherwise struggle to communicate or to connect with others, and/or who struggle with depression because of their disability, the opportunity for self-expression can be life-changing. Thank you, to the Harvest Foundation and all its supporters, for supporting the creative exploration and development of our students. This program enhances our core educational curriculum by providing therapeutic arts and humanities programming. The Medina Foundation helps CHILD meet the critical needs of our community: Funding from the Medina Foundation supports general operating expenses to organizations that meet critical needs in the community and employ innovative and effective approaches. Supporting the general operating funds for CHILD helps to close the gap between the actual cost of service per student and the amount we receive for tuition and insurance billing. To ensure students receive appropriate intervention and support, CHILD subsidizes 25-75% of tuition costs for each student receiving services in our programs. Support from the Medina Foundation allows CHILD to continue assisting families, streamline student placement, and diminish waiting lists. The TJX Foundation helps CHILD close the gap in tuition costs for families in need: CHILD’s Therapeutic Day School provides an opportunity for the rapidly growing number of children with learning disabilities to develop the social, emotional, and academic skills they need to thrive. Reaching 70 children each year, CHILD’s Therapeutic Day School offers an innovative and comprehensive educational model that generates proven results. We provide an intimate classroom environment with low student-to-teacher ratios. Each year CHILD faces a significant gap in revenue in order to provide our essential services to the Puget Sound region. Beyond this, CHILD works to secure financial aid resources so that low-income families can participate in our life-changing educational programming. An investment from TJX Foundation provides critical tuition and financial aid resources-ensuring that children with learning disabilities have access to a quality education that meets their needs.
