Social Skills Series
Many parents have shared with us their concerns regarding their child’s difficulty with social interactions due to poorly developed social skills.
Research shows us children with well-developed social skills are much more likely to make and keep strong friendships and feel more socially connected. Social skills groups based on shared interests and common conversations have been shown to support development of social skills in children.
Developmental Therapy Services (DTS) Social Skills Series provides an opportunity for children to discover what qualities and behaviors are important to themselves and others in developing and keeping friendships.
Fun activities are designed to support and strengthen:
- social skills
- interest-based play skills
- conversation skill with peers
As a result, children begin to develop better awareness of others which helps with:
- their ability to join in a group
- their skills for listening and talking with others, and
- enjoyment in shared-play with others
