Strategic Plan

Our Board of Trustees has developed a statement of strategic intent designed to chart our organizational course over the next ten years. CHILD’s strategic plan is based on the following four statements of strategic intent:

  1. CHILD intends to become more visible within, and accessible to, the communities and families we serve. We will do this by expanding and extending our outreach and by developing a more finely honed message of who we are, what we do (and have done) and the types of children we best serve.
  2. CHILD will develop a detailed succession plan, thereby ensuring the longevity and sustainability of our program. This plan will address all positions of leadership within the organization, the board of directors and critical staff positions. It will include the formal content and materials needed to fully convey the philosophy, model of care and core curriculum of CHILD.
  3. CHILD intends to increase its capacity, allowing it to extend its impact to more children and families within the greater Puget Sound area. This will be done in part by securing space that will provide a permanent home for the school, and secondly, by establishing an endowment that will offer scholarships to families who are unable to pay all or part of the tuition. CHILD will also expand its outreach program to children and families who may want or need its services on a part-time basis. Additional capacity in the form of full-time spaces will be considered only as the data indicates there is a local need and the organization is confident that the size of the program can be increased without compromising the quality of service and sense of community currently provided at CHILD.
  4. CHILD intends to develop a sustainable model to help others to replicate its program in their communities, thereby further extending CHILD’s reach beyond those families it can serve directly. CHILD intends to develop a training program to accomplish this outcome. This will be done by improving and extending our staff training, our family training and our training and education within the community (schools, hospitals, mental health professionals, etc).
