New Heights Middle and High School
|
New Heights School serves middle and high school students ages 10 to 18. New Heights provides a supportive, structured, predictable academic and social experience for up to 30 students. Each student has an individualized education program (IEP) which assures that each student will have opportunities to develop their areas of strength and receive extra help in the areas where skill development is more difficult.
New Heights offers a student council, Presidential Physical Fitness Program, field trips, computers, wood shop, choir, videography and visual arts that extend instructional opportunities and motivate students.
At New Heights, we place a strong emphasis on the development of social interaction skills because they are so basic to a student's overall school success. Children with learning differences often have difficulty generalizing skills to new situations or environments. We introduce social skills curriculum into the classroom to give students an opportunity to practice them on a daily basis in the classroom setting.
