Parent Inquiry
Parents may make inquiries about potential placement or schedule a tour by calling (206) 232-8680 ext. 204.

CHILD staff will review student evaluations and records to determine if Children's Institute is a suitable match for the student. When an agreement is reached, parents sign a contract, and a meeting is scheduled to develop an Individual Service Plan (simiar to an IEP) for the student.

School District Placement
Children's Institute is designated by the State of Washington as an approved "Non-Public Agency" for the purpose of providing contractual education and related services for special education students.

A school district representative contacts CHILD's Program Director to discuss the possible placement of a student. Children's Institute reviews student evaluations and records to determine if the placement is appropriate. Parents are then invited to tour the school and a meeting is scheduled to develop or amend the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Behavior Plan, after which enrollment may begin.
