Manual Arts

/files/photos/kid photos/shop_Resized_193x236.jpgEvery student at Child and New Heights Schools eagerly looks forward to woodshop class. Students conceive, design and create their own project. They figure out the sequence of steps from design to completion and learn to safely use the hand tools. Older students are supervised in the use of power tools. They learn to follow directions and comply with safety rules. These rules are important elements that students master as part of the Manual Arts Program.

Students have made bird houses, whirligigs, tables and chairs, wind chimes, garden planters, toys and many other decorative and useful items to share with their families. It's always a pleasure to visit the woodshop and see students in action!
