The ARC of King County: Founded in 1936, The Arc of King County provides services and support to people with developmental disabilities and their families. As Washington's oldest nonprofit organization serving people with developmental disabilities, The Arc of King County has played a leadership role in providing innovative services. The Arc of King County is an affiliated chapter of The Arc of Washington and The Arc of the United States.

 

Autism Spectrum Treatment And Research Center:  The ASTAR Center offers comprehensive diagnosis and individualized, coordinated treatment throughout the lifespan. ASTAR professionals serve people of all ages, with all degrees of severity, and all from communities.

 

The Center for Children with Special Needs was formed in 1998 as a program of Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. The Center focuses on improving care for children with special needs by providing information to families and health care professionals throughout Washington State. Their website offers resources specific to Washington State as well as diagnosis-specific health information, and tools to support families of children with special needs and care providers.

Ellen Notbohm: Author and columnist offers a website with a variety of resources and stories relating to her experience of raising a son with autism. 

 

Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT) of Washington serves families with children with autism and their educators. FEAT are dedicated to ensuring children and young adults with autism and related disorders have the opportunity to reach their full potential through effective behavioral intervention.

 

Harvard Family Research Project: Harvard Family Research Project (HFRP) strives to promote more effective educational practices, programs, and policies for disadvantaged children and youth by generating, publishing, and disseminating our and others’ research. HFRP was founded in 1983 at the Harvard Graduate School of Education by its director, Heather B. Weiss, Ed.D.

The KID Foundation is the leading authority on Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), understanding its causes and finding treatment solutions. Their work includes conducting rigorous research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of SPD; educating individuals with SPD, their families, healthcare providers, policymakers, and the public about a broad range of SPD-related issues; and advocating for the recognition of SPD.

The Learning Disabilities Association (LDA) of Washington promotes and provides services and support to improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by learning and attentional disabilities.
